Vanesa Amaro is an immigrant who has managed to create her own quality stamp in the field of cleaning houses. She is fascinated by what she does, coming to the realization that, even though it may seem like a simple job to some, you can always make a difference.
Emigrating from one’s own country in search of a better life, or perhaps just a different life, is not easy for most. Whether traveling to a faraway place or to a neighboring nation, there are always different rules or codes and getting settled requires a lot of discipline, effort and a share of good luck. Vanesa Amaro, a young Latina, knows this very well and believes she can bring her experience as a humble cleaner to provide advice to all those who are thinking of traveling to the United States in search of a job.
Originally from Mexico, Vanesa moved to the United States in pursuit of the acclaimed «American dream» and she may be achieving it through all her hard work. She started working as a house and apartment cleaner but realized that she could make a difference, even by performing a simple job.
Wherever she cleans, she tries to give an extra quota of neatness, to get to know the families that hire her and generate a bond with them that goes beyond words, one that is reflected in her work.

«I always bring fresh, new, beautiful, and precious flowers to my weekly clients every week«, she says in one of her videos uploaded on YouTube. She then shared the story of one of her clients who has cancer, whom she tries to help beyond what is stipulated in her contract. In fact, that day she cleaned her house completely free of charge. That case is special, but it has allowed her to create her seal of quality and trust.
She cleans up to four houses or small apartments a day, which for a value of $70 each, has allowed her to earn $280 a day. However, how does she do it to earn up to $800 a day? the answer is simple. Everyone starts from the bottom, and by demonstrating how professional she is, families with larger houses started to ask for her cleaning services. These clients usually paid her $320 for tidying up.
On average she earns $500 per day, sometimes more, sometimes less, and sometimes as much as $800 for relatively large houses that require a lot of hard work. However, she still stresses that the important thing is to show clients that you care.
