One of the most talked-about images after Spain’s triumph at the 2026 World Cup featured Marc Cucurella.
The full-back was photographed and filmed walking through the mixed zone with a transparent plastic bag. Inside, a World Cup trophy could be seen, sparking a wave of comments on social media.
“He carries the Cup as if it were a kilo of tomatoes”, one user wrote. Others even criticized the scene, thinking the official trophy was being transported that way.
However, the explanation was much simpler.
The cup Cucurella was carrying was not the original, but a replica built with LEGO pieces, an item often seen among fans and also during championship team celebrations. The real trophy remains under strict FIFA custody and can only be handled under very specific protocols.
Even so, the photograph had already gone around the world and ended up becoming one of the most curious images of the Spanish celebration.
