Donald Trump starred in an awkward moment during an event at the White House alongside young athletes. It all happened while he was talking with a boy who wanted to dedicate himself to weightlifting.
That was when the president abruptly changed the subject: “You won’t compete against women, right?”. The boy’s response was blunt: “No sir”.
“I don’t think we have to worry about you”, Trump replied, giving him a friendly pat on the shoulder.
To add to that, Trump recounted the story of a transgender weightlifter who unofficially broke all the women’s records. Although he did not identify the athlete he was talking about.
After the boy’s response, Trump used the conversation to once again talk about transgender athletes in women’s sports. The exchange quickly went viral on social media because of how unexpected the moment was.
