What seemed like just another memory from the 2026 World Cup ended up becoming one of the most talked-about videos of the last few hours.
An influencer named “terefifas” was filming her own reaction during a match when her national team scored. In the middle of the celebration, a cup of beer hit her directly.
At the time, she thought it had been part of the collective celebration, something common in many stadiums when a goal is scored; however, when she reviewed the recording, she discovered that the throw had been intentional.
“At the time I didn’t get angry because I thought it was part of the celebration, but while editing I realized it was aimed directly at me. Seriously, is that what they go to the stadium for?”, she wrote on her social media.
The footage also shows the people accompanying the man laughing after the incident, which reinforced the impression that it had not been a coincidence.
The episode sparked an intense debate. Some users condemned the aggression and pointed out that no one deserves to be attacked for recording content for their social media.
Others, however, took the opportunity to express their rejection of those who spend a large part of the match filming themselves, arguing that stadiums should be a place to enjoy football and not to create content.
Although opinions were divided over the presence of influencers in the stands, most agreed on one point: it is one thing to criticize a behavior and quite another to justify an assault.
Because the debate over how to experience football will continue to exist. What can hardly be justified is turning another fan into the target of an attack.
