The investigation is unrelated to the course of the World Cup or refereeing decisions, but rather to commercial contracts and operations linked to the company TourProdEnter LLC, used to manage the entity’s international income. According to the reports, the proceedings began on a preliminary basis in 2025, and in recent days statements have already been taken from some of those involved.
So far there are no formal charges against the AFA or its executives, and the investigation remains in the evidence-gathering stage. However, the news caused a huge impact because it coincided with the moment when the Argentina national team is fighting to keep advancing in the World Cup.
