He managed to send a video to his fiancée before the collapse… and those images were what guided the search for him 💔

Juan Felipe was 24 years old and everything was already ready: the dress, the flowers, Sunday marked on the calendar.

On Monday, August 10, a magnitude 7.4 earthquake shook Colombia, and the Hotel Dibeni, in Pereira, collapsed with him inside.

He had gone there for work, selling frames and glasses, unaware that those would be his final hours.
Before everything collapsed, he managed to send a video to Natalia Patiño, his fiancée, the same video that later helped rescuers know where to search.

His father, Hernán Giraldo, traveled from Bogotá and did not leave, waiting alongside rescue teams for five days.
On Friday, August 14, they found his body amid the rubble.

Natalia, who has a son with him who is only two years old, later wrote words that sum up everything that was left unfulfilled: “You were the most complete love I ever had”.
