“My childbirth could have been an email”: Influencer filmed the moment she gave birth and surprised everyone with an unusual reaction

Diana Herrera did not scream. She did not writhe. There was no chaos in the room.
The content creator, known on social media for talking about motherhood, filmed the birth of her daughter and uploaded it with a phrase that sums it all up: “My childbirth could have been an email”, joking that her calmness turned a moment associated with chaos into just another “formality”.

In the video, she can be seen reclining, calmly chatting while a nurse and her partner accompany her, just before it is time to push.

That contrast was precisely what made thousands of people stop to watch the full clip, surprised that something so intense could look so serene. Diana called it her “best experience”, and the video has already accumulated more than 38 thousand reactions. 🤍

But how can childbirth look this calm?

Not all births are experienced in the same way. The perception of pain is also individual. Preparation, breathing, position during labor, support, and feeling safe in the setting can influence how a woman experiences and expresses that moment. And, above all, looking calm does not necessarily mean not feeling pain. An epidural, for example, can considerably reduce the pain of contractions while the mother remains awake, talks, and can even retain the sense of pressure needed to know when to push.

That is why Diana’s video does not prove that giving birth is painless, but it does show that the screams, crying, and chaos we so often see in movies are not the only reality.
