A new media scandal related to the environment surrounding the 2026 World Cup went viral on social media after statements by a trans beauty queen who claimed to have had a relationship with a former player from the Brazilian national team.
According to Bruna Mendonça, a content creator, the relationship was allegedly marked by an unusual confidentiality agreement, with an alleged fine of approximately 100 thousand dollars (500 thousand reais) if the story came to light.
“At the time, I thought it made sense. When you’re in love, you end up normalizing things that today I would never accept. I signed because I believed that, with time, he would get over that fear and acknowledge our relationship”, she said.
The model explained that the document prohibited any type of exposure related to him, including photos, messages, meetings, and public comments.
Mendonça said that the player even “sabotaged” her. In her own words, he never supported her when she told him about taking part in a beauty pageant.
“His greatest fear was that people would find out he was with me. It was a relationship of almost two years. He was extremely worried about his image. I respected that because I really liked him”, she confessed.
Bruna said that the contract was one of the biggest regrets of her life. “I don’t want to expose anyone. It’s not revenge or an attempt to get attention. I’m speaking openly because I know that many people live through similar relationships and end up accepting situations they should never accept. I would not do it again”, Mendonça added.
The information, spread through media outlets and social media, sparked debate about the truthfulness of the case and about the limits between the private lives of public figures and silence agreements in personal relationships.
So far, there is no official confirmation about the existence of the contract or about the identity of the former footballer mentioned, which has fueled the controversy and speculation on the internet even more.
