“I suffered discrimination for being blonde, they hated me for being white, for having light-colored eyes”, said María Antonia Rojas, a Paraguayan goalkeeper who had a bad time during her stint in Peruvian soccer.

The athlete’s complaint did not go unnoticed, generating a wave of outrage among people, some supporting her and others questioning the accusation.
“They looked at me with disgust because I am tall and blonde, they made me feel like I didn’t belong”, she confessed at the time.

However, Freddy Peñaloza, an executive, came out to deny the accusations, saying that the goalkeeper did not perform well and that she angered the people at the club. Apparently, the girl was having an affair with another player, which is why they finally kicked her out.

But that’s not all, Peñaloza also said that the goalkeeper began hurling racist insults back. “She is racist”, he said in an interview, clarifying that Rojas said on social media that “Peruvians are ugly, horrible”.
