Veteran receives engineering degree 60 years after he went to war: “It’s never too late to fulfill dreams”

“You can’t imagine what this day means to me. It’s a dream come true”, said 88-year-old Keneth Grundborg.

60 years ago, the older adult had to abandon his engineering studies when he received the call from the United States Army to go to Fort Belvoir, Virginia for training and later to Vietnam.

Upon returning, he worked as a public servant for his service until he retired at 75. Although he had finished his bachelor’s degree, he was never able to earn his degree and believed it was too late, but his wife Mila Lynne Floro called the Georgia Tech College institution to arrange a graduation ceremony for him.

The veteran dressed in graduation attire and proudly went to receive his degree. He fulfilled his college dream even though 6 decades had passed ❤️‍🩹
