Hours before the clash between Argentina and Austria at the 2026 World Cup, a group of Albiceleste supporters starred in one of the most curious scenes of the day.
As the streets filled with fans ahead of the match, several Argentines came across a small Austrian supporter and, amid jokes and chants, ended up “turning him Argentine” completely.
The video shows how little by little they put an Argentina jersey on him, lift him onto their shoulders, and bring him into the celebrations while dozens of people begin chanting in unison: “The little guy is Argentinian!”.
The images went viral on social media, where many users highlighted the festive and spontaneous tone of the moment.
“What surprises me most is that they immediately found a jersey in the little guy’s size”, one user wrote. Another commented with a laugh: “It’s moving how they slowly undress him and dress him little by little”.
Beyond the result the match would have hours later, for many supporters one of the most memorable moments of the day happened outside the stadium, when an Austrian ended up being symbolically adopted by the Argentine fans.
