One of the most talked-about moments of the 2026 World Cup did not happen on the field. Former Swedish footballer Zlatan Ibrahimović was involved in an awkward but striking exchange with popular streamer IShowSpeed, known simply as “Speed”.

While the two were together on a broadcast related to the tournament, the content creator approached to interact with the former striker, but Zlatan’s response surprised many.

“Who do you think will win the World Cup?”, Zlatan asked Speed.

“Portugal, Ronaldo will win the World Cup”, Speed replied.

With his trademark serious style, he asked him to step aside so he could continue with his work, in a scene that quickly began circulating on social media.

The brief exchange divided users. Some applauded the former player’s attitude, noting that he prioritized his professional work and maintained his focus in the middle of World Cup coverage. Others, meanwhile, felt the moment could have been handled in a more relaxed way.

As often happens when Zlatan appears in front of cameras, the episode did not take long to go viral and once again showed that his strong personality continues to generate conversation even after his retirement from football.
